Alcossebre
Alcossebre is a charming seaside village, located on the edge of the southern side of Sierra D'irta national park. It is quite a unique location because it hasn't allowed many big buildings to take over.
This village has ten kilometers of coastline, with five lovely beaches. Besides that, there are three cozy coves to explore. Tres Platges consists of three small bays separated by rocks, Cala del Moro is hidden behind a small dune, and Cala Blanca is close to the lighthouse.
One of the highlights of our visit was the Ermita de Santa Lucía y Sant Benet (eng. Hermitage of Saint Lucia and Saint Benedict) as well as visitors center next to it where you can find a little museum with several archeological findings from the area. From the center of Alcossebre you can reach it by 10-15 minutes drive or a little over half an hour by feet. Since it's located at over 300 meters over sea level the view is breathtaking.
Even though Alcossebre is a small town, it attracts visitors for its tranquility, beautiful surroundings and is very popular among summer vacationers and winter retirees.
